"The brief was to interior design a 3m state of the art, world class recording studio with all of the finishes and ff&e. I wanted the studio to feel inspiring, raw, arty and welcoming for artists whilst referencing Brighton and preserving the beautiful building that we were extending and converting. Emma was able to come up with the look and feel and worked with a team of the best including an acoustician who has worked on Abbey Road Studios, a lighting designer and a landscape architect and she brought together some incredible artists to adorn the walls. The results speak for themselves and we have a one of a kind, stunning facility which attracts the cream to of the music industry to create and record here.

"I never thought I needed a life coach until my first session with Emma. She played a crucial role in guiding me through my yoga teacher training, helping me carve out the best path to stand out in my journey. Emma's attentive listening and thoughtful guidance have been instrumental in understanding and addressing my needs. I highly recommend her – she is truly great!"

“The brief was to upgrade our regency town house, close to the Hove seafront, and add a good deal of sparkle. The house was built in 1824, said to be one of the first in Brunswick Square, and also one of only three to remain as a whole house. The project was to upgrade the property from top to bottom over 450sq metres and six floors.

Emma researched the history of the house and liaised with the V & A to gain the knowledge to work on the property in a way that paid homage to the time in which it was built and its original purpose.

The other side of her work was to slot in all the latest gizmos essential to 21st Century family living. The house also needed some significant internal repairs, so Emma negotiated with structural engineers and builders before writing the tender. She deftly encouraged the planning department and heritage officers to support her design remit, as a significant challenge was the Grade 1 listing of the property.

Aside from dealing with the basic structural alternations, Emma’s remit was to dress and furnish the house. This involved bespoke design of furniture and fabrics in symbiosis unique to the history of the house and the passage of time.

The project took two years to complete. Emma designed, negotiated, and purchased everything. She encouraged good working relationships with all builders and suppliers, dealt with inevitable issues and in the end presented a wonderful family home that was a joy to experience.

Our project was no small task. It took determination to design and manage from start to finish. Emma took full responsibility from the outset and ensured the works were finished on time and in budget. Emma woke the tired old town house and gave it zing and pizzazz. Many original features were repaired and she bought things for the house, we would never have dared, and so the whole package went far beyond our expectations. The finished article is beautiful and has enhanced the house beyond its original design.

We would like recommend ESID.”

‘I’d like to give a reference to Emma Saxby.  We’ve known each other a very long time…right back when I was living a full and very busy life, running a few households around the world and married to my professional golfer husband.   We bought a beautiful and substantial family home, it was very distressed, I needed someone who could support me.  I had seen some of Emma’s projects and knew that she had a great eye, fabulous contacts and an ability to project manage.  I needed somebody who knew their stuff and that I could trust fully.  She got the brief and understood what I liked.  So Emma revamped our spectacular home and I just had real confidence in her, she understands all the different tradespeople and getting together all of the absolute experts in the field.  The from the white gold mosaics and bespoke cabinetry in the powder room to the quality and flair of the wallpapers and the furnishings…I was very pleased.  All of the little touches were amazing, I remember coming home looking and thinking, wow, this is better than I could’ve imagined.  I got the blue-white diamond with Emma! I highly recommend her, good luck with Emma because you are going to be really happy with the result.”

"I have had the pleasure of using Emma Saxby Interior Design on a number of occasions now and I can not recommend Emma highly enough.

From the initial meeting where Emma takes the brief to the end result Emma was wonderful. Very very thorough, first class communication, enthusiasm in abundance and a beautiful calm nature.

I originally hired Emma while I was away with work in New York. I just gave her the keys to my home and she did the rest. I wouldn’t trust anyone with my house keys!

What I love about Emma is that I can call on her anytime asking for advice and she will always give me her honest opinion and I love her style advice.

She recently painted an absolutely beautiful painting for me and it had pride of place in my hallway.

I have always found her pricing very competitive and she is always transparent with what prices she receives from the wholesalers, which quite frankly is rare!

All in all I would not hesitate Emma Saxby Interior Design.

Thanks Emma for all your hard work and dedication"
